Data can be very overwhelming because we have so much of it these days. Besides your own customer data, which is the gold standard in learning about your target audience’s behavior, it is critical as marketers we understand where people are spending their time.
Picture a sports ad you've seen. Perhaps a promotion for a favorite team or a commercial for athletic apparel. Is the photography high-contrast and gritty, with a dark background? Are there shards of illustrated shrapnel, digitally produced gradients and rough textures surrounding a tough, sweaty, dirty athlete?
After two years of living upside down in a right side up world, it actually appears as if the world is ready – if not resigned – to going back. Into the office. Into school. Into restaurants. Into stores. Wherever. But not back to the way it was.
With the holiday season comes gatherings, gifting, and new holiday campaigns. In late October, the National Retail Federation (NRF) projected that holiday spending in 2021 would rise between 8.5% and 10.5%, an all-time high for holiday sales growth. In early December, economist Jack Kleinhenz announced that spending growth could exceed NRF’s previous expectations, reaching 11.5%.
